“The Good The Bad The Corny: Radioactive” is an Iranian comedy miniseries sequel to “The good, The Bad, The Corny: The Secret Army” which is the second installment of the franchise “The Good, The Bad, The Corny”. All have been directed by Iranian comedian Peyman Ghasemkhani.
Peyman Ghasemokhani was born on December 20, 1965, in Tehran. He studied informatics statistics at Ahvaz University. As a writer, he has been involved in some of the best Iranian comedy films and TV shows for the last three decades. Some of his more notable works are: “I Love the Earth”, “The Good Smell of Life”, “Bread, Love and the Motor Thousand”, directed by Abolhassan Davoodi, and “Hotel” directed by Marzieh Boroumand. He has won the House of Cinema award of Best Screenplay for “A Girl in Sneakers”. Qasemkhani has served as the head writer of the TV series “Pavarchin”, one of the most popular TV shows ever made. He has also written the script for the series “Our House” (Masoud Keramati) and “Gallery 9” (Gholamreza Ramezani). Ghasemkhani has won the Simurgh of the best screenplay for “The Lizard”. After years of prolific writing for TV and cinema, Peyman Ghasemkhani directed his first movie “The Good, The Bad, The Corny”. The success of the film paved the way for the production of the second part. “the Good, the Bad the Corny 2: Secret Army”, which was released in the winter of 2020 after participating in the Fajr Festival.
although Ghasemkhani has had a successful career in cinema he has always shown more creativity, writing for TV series. “the Good, the Bad the Corny 2: Secret Army” has been criticized for its loose narrative and the writer’s attempts to stop the story due to creating comedic situations. but Continuing the story as a TV show has given Ghasemkhani more creative freedom while making the production smaller and reducing expectations Pejman Jamshidi and Sam Derakhshani’s duo is the jewel of the show and compared to the previous versions of the duo we here see a more comedic version. Their model of dumb buddy comedy duo reminds us of popular versions such as “Dumb and Dumber” and “Harold and Kumar”.
Pejman Jamshidi and Sam Derakhshani due have been Iranian cinema’s most successful comedic duo in recent years. Their first collaboration was in the TV series “Pejman” that was about the fictional version of Pejman Jamshidi, the coming of age professional football and his agent.
Plot summary
Pejman and Sam have been kidnapped along with a yellow cake by Asef, the leader of the Dagestan Free Martyrs’ Group, and are scheduled to cross the northwestern border to Chechnya. Secret Army spies find out that Pejman and Sam are traveling on a train to Tabriz and are trying to reach the station where the train is to stop, the power struggle between the Chechens and the encounter of Pejman and Sam on the train with an unexpected acquaintance gives them hope that they will be rescued from the terrorist group… The Georgian who took command of the Chechens is still seeking revenge on Pejman.
